APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #0628 FOR PORCELAIN, CERAMIC, AND QUARRY TILE - INSTALLATION AND REPAIRS
Description
Bids to provide 'Porcelain, Ceramic, and Quarry Tile - Installation and Repairs' were received from eight vendors on March 18, 2010. The bid of Shaw Contract Flooring Services dba Spectra Contract Flooring, Inc., was the best low bid meeting the advertised specifications based on a sealed scenario. The bid of Florida Floors Southwest, Inc., was non-responsive to the requirement of providing business history of the bidding company for the most recent three year period of time. In addition, references could not be verified operating under the current business name. The bid of Barbas Buildings and Designs, Inc., was non-responsive to the requirement of including tile in the cost of installation. This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods. The funds for these purchases are contained in the capital budget allocated to the Facilities Services Department.
Recommendation
That the bid of Shaw Contract Flooring Services dba Spectra Contract Flooring, Inc., to provide 'Porcelain, Ceramic, and Quarry Tile - Installation and Repairs' in an amount not to exceed $250,000.00, be approved for award and purchase.
